Willkie/Keller Suite
Overlooking the azalea garden, the Wendell Willkie Room has a stunning view of the west lawns, gardens, and our own giant sequoia.
A massive heritage oak tree outside this room spreads its majestic branches just beyond the windows and is the reason our young son referred to Knowles Hill as “the big tree house.” It’s the perfect place to enjoy an amazing sunset.
The room features pink and green fabrics on the comfortable (low for easy access) hand-carved California-King bed and windows, a closet with plush robes and a bath with blue and white mosaic marble tiles and a shower/tub with its original nickel fittings.
The adjoining Helen Keller Room, originally the 1927 “Sewing Room” for Carrie Segerstrom and her daughter—has a treehouse view making it feel as if it’s nestled high in the giant heritage oak tree right outside. It features a comfortable queen-size bed with room for the option of an additional twin air mattress to accommodate a total of three additional guests.
Make a truly memorable group experience by linking this suite with the Melvin Belli Room to create a sprawling three-bedroom, two-bath suite for a family of seven!
