Willkie/Keller Suite

Overlooking the azalea garden, the Wendell Willkie Room has a stunning view of the west lawns, gardens, and our own giant sequoia.

A cozy bedroom with a large wooden bed, decorative pillows, and a white quilt. There are three windows with pink, green, and white curtains letting in natural light. The room has soft yellow walls, framed botanical art above the bed, and vintage-style lamps on dark wooden nightstands. A small table with vases and a lace doily is on the right side.

A massive heritage oak tree outside this room spreads its majestic branches just beyond the windows and is the reason our young son referred to Knowles Hill as “the big tree house.”  It’s the perfect place to enjoy an amazing sunset.

A vintage table lamp with a floral patterned porcelain base and a beige fabric shade with a pink bow, placed on a dark wood sideboard.
Small vintage-style bathroom with a yellow wall, floral curtains, a white pedestal sink, a tub with a floral shower curtain, a window with a valance, and patterned tile flooring.
A bedroom with a wooden bed frame, cream-colored bedding, and assorted decorative pillows. The room has side tables with lamps, a window with pink and white striped curtains, and framed artwork on the walls. There is a green plant and decorative figurines on a small table.

The room features pink and green fabrics on the comfortable (low for easy access) hand-carved California-King bed and windows, a closet with plush robes and a bath with blue and white mosaic marble tiles and a shower/tub with its original nickel fittings.

A bedroom with a large wooden bed with cream-colored bedding and pillows, a small sitting area with a floral couch and striped pillows, a marble-topped oval coffee table, a wall mirror, and a chandelier with multiple bulbs.

The adjoining Helen Keller Room, originally the 1927 “Sewing Room” for Carrie Segerstrom and her daughter—has a treehouse view making it feel as if it’s nestled high in the giant heritage oak tree right outside.  It features a comfortable queen-size bed with room for the option of an additional twin air mattress to accommodate a total of three additional guests.

Make a truly memorable group experience by linking this suite with the Melvin Belli Room to create a sprawling three-bedroom, two-bath suite for a family of seven!

A wicker tray on a table contains a variety of snacks including sliced cheese under a glass dome, crackers, mixed nuts, olives, strawberries, grapes, and other fruits. Beside the tray is a bouquet of orange roses and white flowers, and a card with a handwritten message.
