Melvin Belli, The King of Torts lived right next door. The house built for his parents in 1908 still stands just to the south of the Inn and he is buried in the Odd Fellows Cemetery at the end of Knowles Hill Drive. Belli was an actor and lawyer, most noted for his role as attorney for Jack Ruby, after Ruby shot and killed Lee Harvey Oswald. His famous quote is, "There may be better lawyers than I, but so far I haven't run into any of them in court."

Watch the sunset beyond Dragoon Gulch from this light and airy room with its westward facing windows and views overlooking the dense woods between Knowles Hill and the Sonora Fairgrounds. The high branches of a massive Heritage Oak Tree just out of reach make one feel like they are sleeping in a luxurious tree-house. This second floor room features an Eastern King bedroom set with floral accents. A cozy table and chair set is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine at the end of the day. The private bathroom and shower have mosaic marble floors with green and black accents.

French-milled shea butter soap and lotion, rich marzipan shampoo and conditioner and a hair dryer are provided, as well as an iron and ironing board in the closet. There is a flat-screen TV with DVD player, free internet access and a built-in closet with two plush bathrobes. The Melvin Belli Room accommodates two guests but can be expanded by adding the optional Helen Keller Room accessible through a private adjoining door.
